Majjiga Chaaru

Ingredients:
Buttermilk (tastes good if its little sour) - 4 cups
Garlic - 2 pods
Green chillies - 2
Red chilly - 1
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Ajwain seeds (vaamu) - 2 tsp
Methi seeds - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 2tsp
Zeera - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Salt
Oil - 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Grind Garlic, green chillies, some zeera and salt.
  2. Mix this paste in the buttermilk.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and do the seasoning with ajwain, methi, mustard, zeera, red chilly and curry leaves.
  4. When they start spluttering, immediately transfer this into buttermilk and immediately (when the oil in it is still hot) put the turmeric and cover for 5 min.
Flavourful buttermilk rasam is ready to serve with white rice... Such an easy, tasty liquid dish with in few mins!
